THE JOURNEY TO ISRAEL

 

Background: The journey was an illegal one, since the English didn't allow Jewish immigration to Israel. The passed, clandestine, through Switzerland. They arrive to Italy and there embarked on a ship. They were captured by the English, when close to the Israeli shore, transported to Haifa and from there to a concentration camp in Cyprus. They were imprisoned there for two years and were released with the declaration of the State of Israel, on 1948.
